Roosevelt High School students stand in line to meet Jay Asher, far left, author of the book, "Thirteen Reasons Why," after he spoke at Roosevelt High School as part of his "50 States Against Bullying" tour on Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, in Sioux Falls, S.D. Sioux Falls was Asher's 36th stop on his tour, he said. ÒThirteen Reasons Why,Ó a No. 1 New York Times best seller, is a fictional account of a boy who finds a box of cassette tapes from a classmate who committed suicide. One of Asher's goals is to reach out to people and discuss suicide and bullying even though it may be uncomfortable, he said. "You're not going to reach out for help if you don't think people are going to understand," Asher said. "The more we can do to talk about these things in an honest way, I think that only helps," Asher explained.
