Trespassing Arrests

Henry Damiano, a 46-year-old South Sudanese refugee who has been in Sioux Falls for almost three years, sits at Whittier Park Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, in Sioux Falls. Damiano says he has been trespassed out of the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House, though he claims he did nothing wrong and believes he was mistaken for someone else. He does not stay at the Union Gospel Mission because he says he has been told he canÕt come in there and has been thrown out of the lunch line twice. The trespassing issues leave him with no place to stay, so he says he sometimes stays in a vacant building with a no-trespassing sign on it, and understands the police can arrest him if he is caught, but he needs a place to sleep at night.
